For vendors shipping into national retail DCs

You need to hit a DC window. We're already backed into that dock.

Storage, handling and retail delivery for consumer goods vendors in Calgary and Vancouver — from a carrier that runs into the major grocery and general-merchandise DCs every working day.

Does Rolls Right handle retail and CPG distribution?

Yes. Rolls Right stores and ships consumer packaged goods from its Calgary and Vancouver warehouses and delivers into national retail distribution centres on its own trucks. It has hauled for Costco for more than twenty years, is RetailLink-onboarded with Walmart, and runs daily volumes for Loblaws and Dollarama, so retail appointment scheduling, pallet and labelling standards, and DC routing guides are routine rather than new. Storage is dry ambient at both buildings. Rolls Right holds no SQF, BRCGS, AIB or GMP certification, so it cannot take product that requires certified food-grade storage.

The problem

What usually goes wrong.

Most warehousing problems in this sector are not really storage problems. They are compliance problems: a routing guide you did not write, an appointment window you cannot miss twice, a pallet spec that changes by banner, and a chargeback that arrives a month after the load did.

We have been delivering into those DCs for decades — roughly twenty trailers a day into Costco, thirty to forty into Walmart in Calgary, twenty to thirty for Loblaws. When your product sits in our building and leaves on our truck, the storage and the delivery are one conversation and one invoice, and there is no gap between the warehouse and the carrier for a missed window to hide in.

Start on pallets, prove the volume, take dedicated space when it makes sense. That is the path most of our larger accounts took.

Capabilities

What we run for retail & cpg

  • Pallet storage and dedicated space, dry ambient, in Calgary and Vancouver
  • Retail DC delivery with booked appointments, on our own trucks
  • Carton and case picking to retail orders, including mixed-SKU pallet builds
  • Compliance labelling, stickering and barcode application to your routing guide
  • Retail-ready displays and pallet displays, built in Vancouver
  • Container de-stuffing and drayage for imported product
  • Calgary–Vancouver line haul six days a week, so stock can sit in the right province

Why us

We're already in those buildings.

CostcoWalmartLoblawsDollaramaBest BuyCHEP

We move freight for these retailers and their vendors every week. That is a haulage relationship, not a claim that each one warehouses with us — but it is why their DCs, their appointment systems and their paperwork are familiar ground.

Before you call

Where we're not the right fit.

If your product needs certified food-grade storage, this is not the right building: we hold no SQF, BRCGS, AIB or GMP, and that is a hard stop rather than something we are working on. Chilled and frozen food is different and runs at Rolls Right Cold Storage in Vancouver, which is HACCP certified and food grade. Either way we are happy to quote the freight.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Can you deliver into Costco, Walmart or Loblaws DCs?

Yes, and we do daily. Rolls Right has hauled for Costco for over twenty years, is RetailLink-onboarded with Walmart, and runs regular volume for Loblaws, Dollarama and Best Buy. Send us the routing guide and we will work to it rather than improvise.

What happens if we miss an appointment window?

We treat the window as a hard commitment, because missing one costs everybody money. Our own trucks and our own dispatch mean the schedule is ours to hold rather than a third party's to miss, and you get one named contact with the authority to fix things rather than a ticket queue.

Can you handle our labelling and pallet specs?

Yes. Compliance stickering, re-labelling, barcode application and mixed-SKU pallet builds are routine. Send the spec, and if it is unusual we will walk the first run with you before it goes live.

We import our product — can you handle the container end too?

Yes. We pull the container on our own chassis, strip it, and put the product away, in either city. Vancouver sits about fourteen minutes from GCT Vanterm, so the container leg stays short and the box goes back before demurrage starts.

Do you store food or beverage?

Packaged beverage yes, in Vancouver. On food, the honest answer is that we hold no SQF, BRCGS, AIB or GMP certification, so anything requiring certified food-grade storage isn't a fit, and ambient food isn't what these floors are built around. Chilled and frozen food is different and runs at Rolls Right Cold Storage in Vancouver, which is HACCP certified and food grade. Tell us what you're holding and we'll give you a straight answer.
