We run our own cross-dock inside the Calgary building, with our own trailers based here and a lane to Vancouver six days a week. If your problem is distance rather than space, cross-docking is usually the answer. Most of what crosses this dock is freight staged for the Vancouver lane or inbound freight consolidated for delivery across Alberta. We schedule the two against each other, because an unbooked dock door means a truck waiting.

Questions about cross-docking in Calgary
Do I need to be a storage customer to cross-dock?
No. Plenty of our cross-dock volume never goes into racking, and it's often how a customer relationship starts.
How does the Vancouver lane work?
It runs six days a week on our own trucks with our own drivers. Product can be staged in either building and moved on the lane to the province where it needs to be.
Is this a cross-dock or a transload?
People use the two terms interchangeably, but they are different jobs. Cross-docking moves freight between trailers without putting it away, so there is no storage line. Transloading moves freight between modes or containers, most often from an ocean container onto a domestic trailer, and storage on either side is normal. Calgary does both and quotes them differently, so tell us which one you need.
Can you deliver across Alberta off the dock?
Yes, and that's most of what this dock does. Inbound freight is consolidated and sorted here, then goes out to retail DCs and delivery points across the province on our own equipment, with appointments booked. Our own trailers are based at this building.
