Questions about containers & drayage in Calgary
Do you handle the customs side?
Clearance is filed by whoever handles your customs entries. Once your freight is cleared, we handle the drayage, the strip and the storage in Calgary on our own equipment.
How fast can you turn a container?
Tell us when it lands and what's in it. Turnaround depends mostly on booking the door and the crew ahead of time, so we schedule containers in advance.
How does a container reach Calgary without a rail siding?
It doesn't need one. We run drayage and transload off the CN and CP ramps on our own chassis, so rail freight reaches the building without you arranging a separate move or a second vendor.
Who pays if a container sits too long?
Two clocks run, and two different parties often bill them, so it's worth settling early. Demurrage is charged at the terminal while the box sits there, and detention runs on the equipment once it has left. We run the drayage, so we manage both, and returning the empty is part of the service.
