Can you de-stuff furniture containers at the port end?
Yes. We pull the container on our own chassis, about 14 minutes from GCT Vanterm, strip it whether it arrives palletised or floor-loaded, and put the product away. The box goes back before demurrage starts, and the drayage, the de-stuff and the storage are one company and one invoice.
Furniture is bulky but light. How do you keep storage from eating the margin?
With height. Cube-heavy product pays for the air above it, so the answer is racking that uses the full building: high-pile storage under ESFR protection, with 28-foot clear height in Calgary. More of the season fits in the same footprint, and you pay for positions rather than a lease sized for your peak.
Can you ship retail orders and web orders from the same stock?
Yes. Cartons pick to retail routing guides with booked DC appointments, and parcel-sized home goods pick, pack and ship to web customers from the same pool. If part of your line is oversized pieces going direct to homes, tell us the mix and we will map the right lane for each.
We import from China and sell online in Canada. How does the chain work with you?
The container comes off the ship onto our chassis, gets de-stuffed 14 minutes from the terminal, and the stock goes into racking under your account. Bonded, duty-deferred storage is available through Vancouver, so duty and GST can wait until product moves rather than falling due the week the ship lands. From there, web orders pick, pack and ship to your customers, and anything oversized is worth flagging early so we map the right lane for it. Do you deliver to stores without a loading dock?
Yes. We run power-tailgate equipment on our own fleet, and weekly furniture store deliveries across BC run on it today. Send the store list and we will confirm the equipment for each stop before quoting.
